Pharmacies that pre-sort by day and dose. These package everything into dated pouches. That is what most people actually want when there are six bottles. They work alongside your plan rather than replacing it.

Worth doing both calls in one sitting with your wife on the line, so someone else hears the answers.

Seconding the pre-sorted pouches. In my experience the mix-ups almost always happen with evening doses, exactly as your wife suspects, and dated packaging solves it more reliably than any pill organizer.
